Asian equities advanced this morning while bonds declined. Some markets reopened after the Lunar New Year holiday while Chinese equities continue to remain closed through Wednesday while Wall Street was also closed on Monday.
S&P500 futures traded 0.5% higher to a record level and MSCI’s all country world index (ACWI), which has risen every single day so far this month, ticked up slightly.
Global stocks and U.S. equity futures rallied as investors took comfort in progress on the Covid-19 vaccine rollout, while freezing temperatures in Texas and across the American South roiled energy markets. The dollar weakened, and U.S. and Canadian stock markets were closed for national holidays.
