Stocks in Asia opened modestly higher as investors monitor an easing of geopolitical tension and await the latest reading on the U.S. labour market.

U.S. stocks rose to fresh highs as investor appetite for risk returned after America and Iran stepped back from the brink of war. Oil headed for its first weekly loss since November. Gold dropped for a second day as the U.S. and Iran stepped back from a deeper military conflict, blunting the appeal of haven assets.
